Meet Angela Shelton: Where “What Ifs” Meet “Oh Nos”

Angela D. Shelton, author of The Y Chronicles, writes dystopian worlds full of “what ifs” and romantic suspense full of “oh nos” — and because she can’t help herself, faith and grace keep sneaking in too.

She lives in the southern heat of Georgia with her husband, Tom, and their dogs, Willow and Carly, who serve as her writing companions in the loosest possible sense of the word — mostly they nap. After years of making numbers behave in healthcare accounting, she now spends her days making characters misbehave instead. The early mornings, unfortunately, followed her into this new career. Most days she’s at her computer before the sun is, energy drink in hand and dogs unconscious nearby.

Her favorite part of the job has nothing to do with writing at all. It’s getting to know her readers and the stories they can’t put down.
